Procedure

The Sitting:

To begin the process, we commence by exploring various options regarding the size, setting, clothing, and composition of the portrait. Once we have a preliminary vision for the painting, I arrange a digital photography session, typically held at the subject's residence or workplace. During this session, we collaborate on pose, background and personal objects that may be included in the portrait to ensure a clients personal touch. Upon receiving your approval and commission for the portrait a 30% deposit is required, and I commence work on a half size color study for the clients approval before moving on to the full-size canvas.

Studio Work:

After concluding the initial photography session, I proceed to create a half size color study of the composition in my studio. This involves skillfully merging selected elements from different photos into a cohesive working image. Once this step is completed we will meet again to review and approval of the over all composition and look of the portrait. Upon receiving your approval of the reference color study I commence work on the full-size canvas.

Finishing Touches:

As the portrait approaches its final stages, I will schedule another viewing seeking your approval. Any reasonable alterations or adjustments you may request will be promptly carried out at this time. Once you are satisfied with the finished portrait, the remaining balance is to be paid.

Please note that the timeline for receiving the completed painting may vary depending on my current workload. Generally, you can expect to receive the finished artwork approximately 3 months after the initial photography session, Taking into account the intricacies of the creative process and other ongoing projects this time line can vary by as much as a month.
